Everything Wrong With Red Dead Redemption 2

Written by

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a great game and has got incredible reviews but here we are going to look at all the issues. While publications are claiming that RDR2 is a perfect game, that is not the case. Nothing in this world is perfect and RDR2 is no exception. The following are all the issues in RDR2.

Game Pacing Is Pretty Slow

RDR2 Pacing is pretty slow. There are parts of the game where your walking speed is locked and you are unable to run. While this might be super realistic for the first 5 minutes, it becomes very annoying indeed a few minutes later.

I see game pacing as an issue in RDR2. While this adds to the experience in some cases, people want to play as much of the game as possible at launch and pacing issue keep that from happening. I am sure that there are plenty of people that are annoyed by this thing but it is overlooked due to all the other things that Rockstar has done right.

Controls Don’t Feel Natural

Controls are pretty complicated and if you play open-world RPGs then you might have a hard time getting comfortable with the standard controls. The odd thing is that you cannot remap the buttons. While there are standard presets that you can change in order to reset the layout. They are pre-defined and you are not able to set individual buttons according to your preference.

This is another issue that I think will annoy people. Again, people are willing to overlook this Red Dead Redemption issue because of all the other things that Rockstar has implemented right.

There Are Plenty Of Bugs

Red Dead Redemption 2 has plenty of bugs that are very immersive to say the very least. You don’t have a bug to spoil your experience and keep you from progressing as intended. Flying horses are pretty common in the game. We have also seen dear that can walk through you.

These are just a few examples of all the bugs that can spoil immersion. While these are not game breaking bugs, they do spoil the overall experience.

The Law Is Too Strong

Going up against the law is not easy at all. It is pretty difficult to get away with doing something wrong in RDR2. I have noticed that if you rob a shop at gunpoint, the lawmen will be notified even if there are no witnesses.

Furthermore, when you fight the law, the lawmen are endless. Lawmen will come forward and accuse you no matter what. This might seem unfair to some. It can also be seen as a challenge to some as well. Lawmen that are investigating a scene will spot you and accuse you even if you are hiding behind a building or something of the sorts.

If you want to play the game as an evil badass then you will need a lot of money in order to pay off the bounties. It is going to be a lot of work and you will need to put in a lot of effort as well. The general player that is not all that hardcore will give in to the law and start obeying the rules. That is not what people want from the people that made GTA.

Looting System Is Plain Boring

You have to press a button in order to loot every single item in the game and that becomes very boring and time consuming over time. You won’t mind it for the first 5 minutes but later on, you will question whether it is even worth the time that you are spending. The loot mechanic needs to change.

Let us know what you think about these Red Dead Redemption 2 issue and which one you find the most annoying.
