Overwatch Free Week Trial Coming to All Platforms Next Week

Written by

Blizzard Entertainment announced that Overwatch will be having a free trial throughout the week on all platforms beginning next week.

The free trial will start on Tuesday, Nov. 20 and last until Monday, Nov. 26. The game has held free trials in the past usually to highlight seasonal events or the additional of new characters, but the trials have always lasted a weekend than almost the full week that the latest one will go for.

Players will be able to play Quick Play, Arcade game modes, Play vs. AI, and custom matches on all 19 maps and with all characters, including the recently added 29th hero Ashe. Any progress made during the trial will carry over to the full game if purchased.

All Overwatch players will be able to unlock three Ashe-themed in-game sprays during the free trial week by watching two hours of Overwatch streams on Twitch. Players must have their Blizzard accounts linked to their Twitch accounts in order for the rewards to unlock.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners will need a Xbox Live Gold subscription or PlayStation Plus membership to download and play, though PC only requires a Blizzard account. Console owners can start pre-loading the game now to be ready for the trial, while PC players will have to wait until the trial starts on Nov. 20 to start downloading the game.
