Dodge Roll has announced Enter the Gungeon’s final update, which will be coming soon before the studio moves on to other games. Enter the Gungeon, which came out back in 2013, has had a lot of expansions over those years, but the studio believes that its time has come at last.
Enter the Gungeon tells the story of a variety of different characters, including a Marine, a Convict, a Hunter, a Pilot, a Robot, and a Bullet, who are all entering the titular dungeon, which is filled with deadly traps and huge armies of sentient bullets, in order to get to the treasure it holds within: a gun that can kill the past.
With this gun, each character aims to go back in time to their past and set right something that once went wrong. However, getting there isn’t going to be easy, because the game is a roguelike, meaning it will take a lot of frustration, blood, sweat, and tears, before you get to the gun with even one character. Thankfully, a huge arsenal of guns are at your disposal, each with their own unique abilities.
Before Enter the Gungeon’s final update was announced, the game had a number of expansions released for it, including Advanced Gungeons and Dragons, and others, which brought more guns, pasts for the Bullet and Robot, and more. Another expansion was supposed to come out as well, but Dodge Roll cancelled that when they announced the final update.
However, the game will still be sticking around, and those expansions are free, meaning that you’ll be able to enter the Gungeon after the game’s final update to try and get the gun yourself. If you want to play that then, Enter the Gungeon is available on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, and the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully now that they’re doing Enter the Gungeon’s final update, Dodge Roll will have good luck in future endeavors.
