Sony CEO Says “Door Is Closed” on Disney Resolution over Spider-Man MCU Debacle

Unless you’ve been living under a rock in recent weeks, the chances are that you would be aware of the messy split between Sony and Disney as they argue how much money each of them should get, with Sony lending the Spider-Man license to Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.  If this never gets resolved, it’s a massive blow to fans of the movie franchise, especially as Peter Parker has been so heavily invested in the future of the MCU, even more so following the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame.

Unfortunately, a amicable resolution continues to look less likely, that’s according to Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra.  When speaking to Variety, Vinciquerra has been quoted saying “for the moment, the door is closed.”  However, he did also imply that a resolution is not impossible by stating that “it’s a long life” and he added that there is “no ill will” between Sony and Disney/Marvel, so there is always time on our side for the resolution that fans are desperate…
