Steam Remote Play Together now available in beta, allows you to play all local MP games over the Internet

Earlier this month, we informed you about a new feature of Steam that would allow you to play all local multiplayer games over the Internet. And today, we are happy to report that Steam Remote Play Together is available in beta.

With Remote Play Together, you can now invite Steam Friends to join your local co-op, local multiplayer, and shared/split screen games online. According to Valve, up to four players can instantly join in the fun. Moreover, only the host needs to own and install the game; additional players connect through Steam Remote Play streaming technology.

With Steam Remote Play Together you can play local multiplayer games with Steam Friends online. You can also stream video, audio, input, and voice between players. Furthermore, you can use your own controllers, or share control of the keyboard & mouse. Lastly, you can play together across PC, Mac, and Linux.
