Madou Monogatari I Has Been Fan Translated Into English

Madou Monogatari I, a partial remake of the first Madou Monogari game released for the Sega Genesis exclusively in Japan, has been fan translated into English. The translation comes courtesy of a team of dedicated fan translators who’ve done multiple releases in this series in the past: TheMajinZenki, Supper, filler, and cccmar.

In Madou Monogatari I, Arle is only a student at the Magic Kindergarten. After faking her way through an exam by accidentally picking all the right answers, she’s now tasked with venturing through the dangerous Magic Tower as part of her final exam.

While the game keeps the premise of the first part of the original Madou Monogatari 1-2-3 on MSX computers, the game’s story and gameplay are something altogether original. Rather than first-person dungeons, there’s a fighting game-esque battle system and completely original dungeons.
