Sony has announced a new endeavor designed to help make the PlayStation ecosystem a safer and better-running place. It now has a HackerOne PlayStation Bug Bounty program open to anyone savvy at spotting inconsistencies and issues with websites and engineering. Depending on the issue, people could get bounties between $100 and $50,000.
There are two categories in this PlayStation Bug Bounty Program. One is for the PlayStation Network itself, while the other is for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation Network’s bounties are the smaller of the two, with low priority ones getting $100, medium ones at $400, high ones at $1,000, and critical ones at $3,000. When it comes to the PlayStation 4 bounties, they start at $500 for low level issues. The medium issues could pay out $2,500. High ones come in at $10,000. Finally, a critical vulnerability is the coveted $50,000 bounty.
