Comments to Shpeshal_Ed has seemingly confirmed that remedy is indeed working with playstation on a exclusive game

  • Remedy sure is enjoying their independence now, they’re now making:

    * An Epic Game Store exclusive(+consoles probably) with Epic

    * Crossfire X, an Xbox exclusive with MS

    * and an unknown game with Sony as a Playstation exclusive

At this rate we’ll find out their “small scale game” is a Nintendo Switch exclusive lol

  • So they are making crossfire X single player which is on Xbox, an epic store exclusive that might be Alan wake 2 and a ps5 exclusive

  • remedy has an epic games exclusive, an Xbox exclusive-CrossfireX, and a PlayStation exclusive

wait a few months and they will be working on a switch and stadia exclusive as well lol

  • Sony spent $300 million on “second party” games just last year. That’s far, far, far more than they have ever spent before.

There are probably a lot more of these to come.

  • Shpeshal_Ed seems to be the source of more and more rumors these days. How credible is he?

  • Also Remedy recently gave away Control UE free on PS Plus on day 1 of the next gen release so this definitely could be true. Control also was part of State of Play presentation few months ago.

  • – Sony was reported to have spent around $329 million on the production of future second party titles.

    – Remedy has had a rock solid relationship with Sony for quite a few years now, with Control: Ultimate Edition on PS4/PS5 releasing day one via PS Plus most recently.

  • Is this person legit?

It’s not that this rumor is totally fake (I’d say it’s plausible due to how aggressive Sony is with these exclusivity deals), but I don’t know if this is enough proof.

    I could be totally wrong

Edit: I see now that this person has a very good track record.

  • Not trying to be an ass, why should we believe a guy with 3,000 followers and a youtuber channel with just over 4,000?

  • I’m not going to lie, but I find gamepass day one > timed/full 3rd party exclusivity.

It just sucks that Sony would better spend money on a timed/full 3rd part exclusivity instead of improving their PS now, I know they said it’s not sustainable, however it would be fucking awesome to be able to pay all of their exclusive games on a service

  • I find this somewhat hard to believe. They are already confirmed to have their next 2 games in development in conjunction with Epic as [multiplatform](https://www.remedygames.com/remedy-entertainment-signs-with-epic-games-to-publish-two-new-multi-platform-games/). The source is them themselves.

  • All he said is “ok” how is that confirmation?

    undertoned- April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • Who shpeshal anyway ?

    cyberRakan April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • is it the new alan wake?

    OGshine April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • Do these deals tend to be a company paying a developer just for the exclusivity rights or to help fund it overall? (as if it wouldn’t be made without sony’s help)

    LinkSkywalker April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • If Alan Wake 2 doesn’t ship onto the Series X, I’m going to lose it. It’s been one of my most anticipated games of all time.

    skywalker3819r April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • and who is this guy?

    alireza008bat April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • Is this possible for this to be just an Alan Wake remaster? Since Xbox can play it using BC

    jumper62 April 5, 2021 6:40 pm
  • This could be a Sony game that would be a PS5 console exclusive game + launching on Epic (PC).
